At a time where nearly every professional match is readily consumed on our screens and thriving professional leagues play out on our shores, it can be hard to imagine there was ever a time when these United States were ever considered the “wrong side of the pond”. But to a soccer-loving, middle-class kid growing up in the Midwest, it often felt that way.

So for the old American fan who never thought this day would come to the new fan just getting acquainted with the game, Wrong Side of the Pond aims to capture, reflect upon and promote the rise of American soccer culture and share the unique perspectives we have to tell about the world’s game.

The main man behind the curtain, D.J. is the founder, editor, and designer behind WSOTP. His love affair with soccer spans over 30 years of playing, watching, and working in the beautiful game. The co-host of the WSOTP Podcast, Jeremy is an Operations Director for amateur league organizer Gotham Soccer. An occasional Cincinnati sports radio personality, he’s perhaps best known for shamelessly using his media access to attend international club friendlies, World Cup qualifiers, and the occasional thrilling local high school derby.
