About WSOTP
In a day of age where every English Premier League match is readily available on US television and a thriving professional league featuring stars from across the globe plays out on our shores, it’s hard to imagine there was ever a time when the US was considered the “wrong side of the pond”. But to a soccer-loving middle-class kid growing up in the Midwest, it often felt that way.
So for the old American fan who never thought this day would come to the new fan just getting acquainted with the game, Wrong Side of the Pond aims to capture, reflect upon and promote the rise of American soccer culture and share the unique perspectives we have to tell about the world’s game.
The main man behind the curtain, D.J. is the founder, editor and designer of WSOTP. His love affair with soccer spans over 30 years of playing, watching and working in the beautiful game. He is also a supporter of Tottenham Hotspur, the US national teams and the consumption of craft beer. The former Senior Director of Digital, Design and Supporter Relations for FC Cincnnati, he now covers the club for Pro Soccer USA. And since this action shot from college proves nothing of his knowledge of the game, you’ll just have to trust he’s not an idiot.
The co-host and producer of the WSOTP Podcast, Jeremy is a local sports radio personality and the director of Gotham Soccer’s Ohio operations. Known for shamelessly using his media access to attend everything from international club friendlies, World Cup qualifiers and the occasional thrilling local high school derby. Jeremy supports Chelsea and the US national teams and also enjoys himself a cold pint. This picture shows Jeremy sitting where Mourinho sat, which is the soccer equivalent to staying at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
