I’m back… in the writing game that is.
Starting this week, I’ll be covering FC Cincinnati’s maiden voyage in Major League Soccer for Pro Soccer USA for the 2019 season! For those unfamiliar with the site, Pro Soccer USA was founded in 2018 and is operated by the Orlando Sentinel, a Tribune Publishing news organization based in Orlando, Florida, and offers local in-market coverage for every MLS club and the NWSL.
What does that mean? Everything FC Cincinnati, that’s what.
Expect match previews and recaps for every regular season and cup match for the Orange and Blue, tactical analysis, breaking news coverage, training updates, monthly features, and original video content throughout the 2019 season.

And getting to do all of that alongside so many other great writers at Pro Soccer USA is just one of the many reasons I’m really excited about the upcoming season.
The other big reason is that despite having learned a lot from and really enjoying the experience of working within a club the last three years, I never really set out to be a “front-office shill”. If this website wasn’t enough to give it away yet, I’ve actually long wanted to cover soccer as a journalist. While I was also supposed to write at FC Cincinnati more than I did, a plethora of additional roles landing in my lap helped to minimize those efforts since early 2016. And though I’ve dipped my toes back in with a few blog posts here and there after leaving the club last August, joining Pro Soccer USA means I’m diving fully back into the writing waters.
If you’re one of the six people concerned that this might interrupt your favorite Wrong Side of the Pond content like the podcast, soccer pub atlas, or freelance projects, worry not… their (irregular) service will continue on unimpeded.
My deepest gratitude goes out to everyone at Pro Soccer USA for giving me the opportunity to join their exciting organization this year, with special thanks to editor Alicia DelGallo.
Here’s looking forward to the 2019 season, and make sure to check out all of my new written content at Pro Soccer USA!
Congrats DJ!! Making your dreams cone true!!
