Perhaps for the first time in the history of the #Pondcast, big soccer news actually broke yesterday before we recorded the episode. So we shuffled our plans to make plenty of room to talk about Jurgen Klinsmann being relieved of his duties as US Men’s National Team Manager and Technical Director, as well as who […]
International break be damned, there was still plenty that transpired over the last week to warrant a new episode of the #Pondcast this week. As such, Jeremy and D.J. tackled a smaller set of subjects this week with a heavy focus on last Friday’s USA-Mexico match in nearby Columbus. How was the post-election atmosphere? What was up […]
The North London Derby may have been given top billing in England last weekend, but two standout performances from Chelsea and Liverpool might have stolen the spotlight — and the guys were inclined to delve into all three matches on this week’s show. Moving stateside, there was plenty of MLS Playoff discussion in the cards too. Not […]
Every week when you download the latest episode of the WSOTP Podcast, you probably don’t think about the economics involved in the show. No matter what Ted says online, this site is most definitely not a profit making venture. In fact, we spend far more money on it than the ads most of you block rake in. Most […]
For those downloading this week’s show, we wanted you to know going in it’s going to be a lengthy one — but one well worth the listen. In addition to the normal rundown of the Premier League, MLS Playoffs and the other usual weekly segments, we also welcome on our friends from Detroit-based podcast The Outer […]
A smile was permanently plastered to Jeremy’s face as we recorded this week’s #Pondcast, and not just because his Chicago Cubs are in the World Series. With Chelsea’s massive triumph over Mourinho’s United — and a flurry of other top 4 draws — he had plenty to smile about. The guys spend time recapping this past […]
Delayed a day because I fell asleep while the file was uploadin — hashtag dadlife — your latest episode of the #Pondcast is now finally ready for audio consumption. This week, we (mostly) skip over the dud that was Liverpool-United before digging into City-Everton, Bob Bradley’s first game in charge at Swansea and West Brom-Spurs before rounding […]
This past Friday, the US Men’s National Team played a historic match on Cuban soil. It was the first friendly we’ve played in Cuba since the Cold War, and WSOTP had a “spy” in the stands. WVXU/WMUB’s Tana Weingartner (@TanaWeingartner) makes her latest appearance on this week’s #Pondcast to provide her first hand account of her […]
DJ’s Spurs went and demolished Guardiola’s City at the weekend, and Jeremy’s Chelsea got back to their winning ways. But both of those topics were forced to take second billing in this week’s #Pondcast discussions thanks to what Bob Bradley went and did at Swansea this week. But worry not, we still took time to delve into […]
Things are very hot in cold in the #Pondcast studios again this season, and not just because of the Presidential elections. Jeremy’s Chelsea has him enveloped in sadness for the second straight season, while D.J. rides a wave of joy as his Spurs continue to produce uncharacteristic results — both of which are discussed on this week’s […]
