Here at Wrong Side of the Pond, we’ve been known to take the international breaks off. That’s almost always the case during breaks without any meaningful matches for the US Men’s National Team, which was very much the case this time around, too. But this was no normal international break. First, the USMNT’s failure to qualify for the World Cup has hoisted every match they’ve played under the microscope, and last week’s match against Colombia certainly provided another opportunity for everyone to micro-scrutinize through the lens of their overly high expectations. From there, we shift the conversation to monumental events that transpired in Columbus last week.
